POE is divided into two kinds, one is ethylene and butene polymers, the other is ethylene and octene polymers.

POE plastic is a thermoplastic elastomer that uses ethylene and octene of metallocene catalyst to achieve in-situ polymerization, which is characterized by: (1) the soft chain curl structure of octene and the crystalline ethylene chain as the physical crosslinking point, so that it has excellent toughness and good processability. (2) There is no unsaturated double bond in the molecular structure of POE plastic, which has excellent aging resistance. (3) POE plastic has narrow molecular weight distribution and good compatibility with polyolefin. (4) Good fluidity can improve the dispersion effect of the filler, but also improve the weld mark strength of the product.

With the increase of POE plastic content, the impact strength and elongation at break of the system are greatly improved. It can be seen that POE plastic has excellent toughening effect on PP, and has good compatibility with PP and active calcium carbonate. This is because the molecular weight distribution of POE plastic is narrow, the molecular structure of the side of the octyl is longer than the side of the ethyl, in the molecular structure can form a joint, play a connection between the components, the buffer effect, so that the system is dispersed when the impact of the impact energy, reduce the silver line due to the force to develop into a crack opportunity, thereby improving the impact strength of the system.
